Connectivity With Ocusell
There is a lot of discussion in our industry about the pros and cons of neighboring MLSs coming together and consolidating under one roof. At Ocusell our platform provides a third option, or as we like to call it: Option C for Connectivity.
The Ocusell Network is a modern listing infrastructure which makes it possible for agents who are members of more than one MLS to enter all the listing information for a property in one form and automatically syndicate it to their other MLSs on the network. One form, multiple MLSs. Hours of time potentially saved. The best part is, we incorporate the business rules of each MLS all from the same form so each MLS can maintain their independence and core identity. By lowering the friction to listing in more than one place, MLSs could attract agents from local MLSs and reduce the pressure to merge (at least one of our MLS clients has already reported membership growth due to the ease of listing with Ocusell).
Here’s how Connectivity works with Ocusell:
Customized Implementation
As soon as one of our MLS partners starts the implementation process, we go over their listing entry form and business rules with a fine-tooth comb. We perform a gap analysis to see where any outdated rules are and make sure only the updated rules are in place. Then we build a RESO-compliant custom add/edit form which incorporates the business rules, definitions, and other listing requirements of the MLS. When two (or more) nearby MLSs have slightly different rules, terminology, or other items that aren’t identical, we add additional fields where the allowed information can be entered.
Note: We have many other ways of speeding up the listing workflow beyond our custom forms. Check out the complete list here.
Simultaneous Updates
When you use the Ocusell add/edit form to list in multiple MLSs, any changes you make in Ocusell are simultaneously pushed out to all the MLSs in minutes. The data stays fresh and you don’t run the risk of one MLS publishing different information than another for the same property. The same applies for any changes that are made directly to a listing in the MLS. We call it ‘bi-directional sync’. If an agent or their admin makes a change to the data in one MLS, Ocusell quickly registers the change and will send a notification to alert users there is a discrepancy and ask for confirmation before it syncs to any other MLSs where the property is listed.
In-App User Communication
One of the biggest challenges an MLS has is communicating rule changes to all their members. Ocusell provides in-app explanations to guide the user through the listing input sheet. An MLS no longer has to rely solely on newsletters and other communication that subscribers may not read. By lowering another one of the friction points for agents, there is greater incentive for them to join a nearby MLS.
Ocusell is not just listing management, it is listing infrastructure. We have re-architected the system that supports listings without having to rip out what was already there and replace it with a new cumbersome product that takes a long time to learn. Our intuitive platform is so easy to use, our clients pick it up in a few minutes.
